The globes were delivered, and they work (and look) beautifully.

Thank you very much for having made this special order possible. My guess is
that this 10W globe has very good chances to directly replace (dimmable) 50W
halogens; the perceived brightness seems similar. Further, one won't need
external transformers, and they fit the 30 year-old gimble fitting style.

That is, the conversion is to simply remove the transformer and M16 fitting,
replace by GU10 fitting and the globe, everything else just stays in place.
